ACADEMIC INTERESTS
Vagueness and Dynamics
I have studied philosophical topics of vagueness in terms
of dynamics. Proposing my own position: dynamic semantics,
I have investigated logic and philosophy of vagueness. Though
it is well known that it is defficult to give a consistent
and adequate semantics for vague predicates, my main interest
is to give a natural and formal semantics as much as possible.
Logic of Strict Implication
I have studied a so-called logic of strict implication. It
is a logic that captures a natural or relevant concept of
"implication" in deductive logic. I have studied it from a
historical and formal point of view. Thus, I am maily
interested in a connection between C. I. Lewis' original
logic and contemporary relevant and paraconsistent logic.
Theory of Truth and Judgment
While philosophical arguments on truth are currently very
vigorous, a theory of judgment is regarded as an old-
fashioned area in philosophy. However I have investigate
a substantial theory of truth in respect to a theory of
jedgment. Thus I have atempted to build a unified theory
of truth and judgment. The theory would cover a wide rage
of phisolophy: theorethical and practical one.
