抄録	キャベツ畑の微生物数の垂直分布は、表層から下層に向かうにつれて減少した。表層から下層への量的変化には土壌型間に特徴がみられた。全細菌数は、ジャーガルで深度5ｃｍ以下、島尻マージは深度20ｃｍから急激に減少し、国頭マージは圃場によって異なった。グラム陰性菌数は島尻マージが深度20ｃｍから急減したが、国頭マージやジャーガルは圃場間で異なった。放線菌数や糸状菌数は特徴が見いだせなかった。 　全細菌数／グラム陰性菌数の比は、国頭マージが下層に向かうにつれて高くなったが、島尻マージやジャーガルでは差がなかった。また全細菌数／放線菌数の比は、ジャーガルの下層で低かったが、国頭マージおよび島尻マージは大差がなかった。また全細菌数／糸状菌数の比は表層と下層で大差がなかった。 　Penicilium属菌は国頭マージや島尻マージで表層に多かったが、ジャーガルでは差がなかった。 　国頭マージと島尻マージの新植夏植の全細菌数およびグラム陰性菌数は深度20ｃｍ、株出圃場では深度5ｃｍ以下の層で著しく減少した。ジャーガルの新植夏植は、10ｃｍ以下、株出では30ｃｍ以下の層で全細菌数が急減するが、グラム陰性菌数は新植夏植で深度5ｃｍ以下、株出では20ｃｍ以下の層から急減した。 　放線菌数は国頭マージや島尻マージでは株出圃場で分布範囲が深くなったが、ジャーガルは深度30ｃｍまで差がなく、また新植夏植でも40ｃｍまで大差がなかった。国頭マージの糸状菌数は下層に向かうにつれて著しく減少したが、島尻マージは20ｃｍ、ジャーガルは30ｃｍまで表層と大差がなかった。 　パイナップル園では熟畑化した圃場で微生物数が多く、新開地などは微生物数が貧弱であった。 Summary The soil of the Okinawa Island can be conveniently subdivided into three soil groups (soil type). The northern part of the Island is distributed with Kunigami gravel soil (kunigami marji) and the central to the southern part consists mainly of Gray cray soil (Jargaru) and Ryukyu limestone soil (Shimajiri marji). Vertical distribution of soil microbial in field is characterized in soil type relatively uniform microbial number with from surface layer to lower layer. Microbial number of the soil clearly decreased at from the surface soil to the lower plow layers. In the pineapple field, microbial number of plow layer were more abundant in the field maturing than in virgin soil.
